Statement by Liberal Party of Canada Leader Justin Trudeau on Orthodox Easter

OTTAWA – The Leader of the Liberal Party of Canada, Justin Trudeau, issued the following statement on the occasion of Orthodox Easter:

“On Sunday, Christians of the Orthodox, Oriental Orthodox and Eastern Catholic faiths will gather with their loved ones to celebrate Easter, and mark the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

“This day serves as a reminder to us all of the importance of extending a helping hand to those in need, and of solemnly reflecting on the notions of personal sacrifice and compassion that underlie this occasion.

“On behalf of the Liberal Party of Canada and our Parliamentary Caucus, my family and I wish all those celebrating a very happy Easter.”
