Our Liberal plan is focused on giving seniors the retirement they deserve

A Liberal government will ensure a secure retirement for Canadians by:

• Restoring the starting age for Old Age Security (OAS) and Guaranteed Income Supplement (GIS) from 67 to 65.
• Increasing the GIS for single seniors to provide extra support for Canada’s lowest income seniors.
• Working with the provinces and to enhance the Canadian Pension Plan.
• Introducing a more flexible and accessible Employment Insurance Compassionate Care Benefit to help Canadians caring for a seriously ill family member, rather than only those caring for a loved one at risk of death.
• Making new investment in affordable housing and seniors’ facilities a priority.
