Liberal Motion Compels Prime Minister to Testify Under Oath

OTTAWA– The Liberal Party of Canada will introduce an Opposition Day Motion tomorrow to launch a committee investigation into the actions of the Prime Minister’s Office in the repayment of Senator Mike Duffy’s expenses, and to call the Prime Minister to appear and testify under oath.
The motion, which will be introduced by Deputy Leader of the Liberal Party of Canada, Ralph Goodale, is as follows:
That the Standing Committee on Access to Information, Privacy and Ethics be instructed to examine the conduct of the Prime Minister’s Office regarding the repayment of Senator Mike Duffy’s expenses; that the Prime Minister be ordered to appear under oath as a witness before the Committee for a period of 3 hours, before December 10, 2013; and that the proceedings be televised.
