Statement by Liberal Party of Canada Leader Justin Trudeau on Navratri

MISSISSAUGA, ON – The Leader of the Liberal Party of Canada, Justin Trudeau, today issued the following statement in recognition of Navratri:

“I am honoured to join members of Canada’s Hindu community today in recognizing the occasion of Navratri.

“Over nine nights, families and friends come together in worship and celebration, culminating in the tenth night of festivities. This is an important date in the Hindu calendar, and one of the many celebrations that bring Canadians together. I am happy to be celebrating with Canadians in Markham today at Sanatan Mandir Cultural Centre.

“On behalf of the Liberal Party of Canada and my family, I extend my warmest regards to all Canadians partaking in the Navratri festival, and thank you for sharing your faith and traditions with all of us.”
