Statement by Liberal Party of Canada Leader Justin Trudeau on the Anniverary of the Birth of Guru Nanak Dev Ji

HINTON, AB – The Leader of the Liberal Party of Canada, Justin Trudeau, today issued the following statement on the anniversary of the birth of Guru Nanak Dev Ji:
“Today, Sikhs in Canada and around the world come together to celebrate the anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s birth. Guru Nanak long spoke of love, compassion, and community, and his message resonates to this day.
“As you join with friends, family, and community, I know you will take this opportunity to reflect on the past year, and look with promise to the year ahead.
“Sikh Canadians have and continue to contribute to the vibrant cultural fabric of our society. Since being elected Liberal Leader, I have had the good fortune to spend time with Canada’s Sikh community on many occasions, and I look forward to doing so in the future.
“On behalf of the Liberal Party of Canada and our Parliamentary Caucus, I wish all those celebrating peace and happiness during this anniversary of the birth of Guru Nanak Dev Ji.”
