Statement by Liberal Party of Canada Leader Justin Trudeau on the Mid-Autumn Festival
September 27, 2015
TORONTO – The Leader of the Liberal Party of Canada, Justin Trudeau, today issued the following statement on the celebration of the Mid-Autumn Festival:
“Today, alongside Canada’s vibrant Chinese, Taiwanese, Vietnamese, Korean, and Japanese communities, among others, we celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival.
“During this time, we give thanks under the moonlight for the harvest and the year’s successes. As we light lanterns, and share mooncakes among family and friends, we are reminded of Canada’s rich and vibrant diversity – that we are strong not in spite of our differences, but precisely because of them. I look forward to taking part in these important celebrations today.
“On behalf of the Liberal Party of Canada, Sophie and I offer our best wishes to all Canadians celebrating the Mid-Autumn Festival.”
