Statement by Liberal Party of Canada Leader Justin Trudeau on Vietnamese New Year
January 31, 2014
VANCOUVER – The Leader of the Liberal Party of Canada, Justin Trudeau, issued the following statement on the celebration of Tet, the Vietnamese New Year:
“Today, friends and families in Canada and around the world will gather to commemorate Tet, the Vietnamese New Year.
“Tet provides us with an opportunity to celebrate the successes and gifts of the past year, and an occasion to look forward to new opportunities.
“I had the chance to celebrate the Tet Festival in Toronto this year with the Vietnamese-Canadian community. The warmth and heartfelt welcome that I received reminded me of a trip years ago when I was fortunate enough to celebrate Tet in Vietnam. “
“On behalf of the Liberal Party of Canada and our Parliamentary Caucus, allow me to extend my best wishes for peace and prosperity to all those celebrating Tet.”
