It’s Thanksgiving weekend, which means it’s time to serve-up the facts and bring the heat with a little bit of Turkey Talk.

If your favourite relatives tries to ruffle your feathers or dish-out some of those Conservative talking points at this year’s family gathering, we’ve got you covered with a double helping of pointers on how our Liberal team is making life more affordable, growing the middle class, and building and economy that works for all Canadians.

“Trudeau isn’t doing anything to help tackle inflation!”

Don’t gobble this one up!

This is a global challenge, and we know that Canadians need support now.

That’s why we’ve taken steps to put more money back into the pockets of those who need it the most. We’re supporting 11 million Canadians by doubling the GST Credit for 6 months, meaning an extra $467 for families, $234 for single Canadians, and $225 for seniors. We’re introducing the Canada Dental Benefit that will provide $1,300 per child over the next two years for families with an income under $90,000 to ensure kids have access to the dental care they need. And we’re providing 1.8 million renters with a $500 top-up to the Canada Housing Benefit.

While our Liberal team continues to have Canadians’ backs with these new measures and so many others, Pierre Poilievre and Conservative politicians are opposing rent and dental supports for families that need it most. So, the next time Pierre Poilievre and the Conservatives say we’re not doing anything to make life more affordable, make sure you don’t fall for their lines and, instead, call fowl play.

“Let’s worry about our economy first, then we can talk about climate change!”

We need to squash this narrative.

Climate change is our greatest threat, but also one of our biggest economic opportunities. To build an economy that works for everyone, we have to continue our work to tackle climate change – and only our Liberal team understands that.

That’s why we’ve been building on our bold and ambitious climate plan to create new middle class jobs, deliver clean air, and grow our economy. We’re making Canada a leader in the Net-Zero economy of the future, banning harmful single-use plastics starting next year, ensuring all vehicles sold in Canada are Zero-emission by 2035, and continuing toward our goal of planting 2 billion trees – just to name a few!

Pierre Poilievre and his reckless Conservatives want to make pollution free again which would take money out of the pockets of Canadian families, and do less to fight climate change which would hurt our environment, our economy, and our workers.

“Our kids will never be able to own a home like we did!”

We’re taking action now to build more homes, make housing more affordable, and ensure more young Canadians can find the tur-keys to a home of their own.

Our Liberal team is doubling the rate of housing construction over the next 10 years, helping young people afford a home by doubling the First Time Home Buyers’ Tax Credit, providing a $500 payment this year to renters struggling with the cost of housing, cracking down on foreign ownership and speculation, and so much more.

“Are child care fees really going down?”

You bet your sweet potatoes they are!

Our Liberal team is delivering real savings on child care fees now and moving forward with our plan for $10-a-day child care.

This year, families from coast-to-coast-to-coast are seeing their child care fees reduced by 50% on average, saving parents thousands of dollars in child care costs – and by 2025, $10-a-day child care will be a reality across the country.

In the last election, the Conservatives promised to cut our plan for $10-a-day child care, and the new spaces it is creating for our kids. Under our Liberal plan, we’re creating new middle class jobs, making life more affordable, building an economy that works for everyone, and giving our kids the best start in life – now that’s a gourd-geous thing!

“Who’s this new Conservative leader – I hear he’s got some good ideas?”

Don’t be-leaf this one.

Pierre Poilievre has been a Conservative insider for more than 20 years – pushing the same leftover policies of Stephen Harper. Since 2015 he’s been standing against the CCB, tax cuts for the middle class, and pandemic supports that helped millions of Canadians.

Now he’s pushing reckless policies that would put our economy, our health, and our safety at risk. From promoting volatile crypto-currency to “opt out of inflation,” promising to make pollution free again, and allowing his caucus to bring forward anti-abortion legislation, Pierre Poilievre is bringing made-in-America politics to Canada and wants to roll back our progress.

While Pierre Poilievre and his Conservative Party keep yam-mering away about cutting services for Canadians and rolling back vital programs that put more money in people’s pockets, our Liberal team will remain focused on moving Canada forward.
