Move Over, Justin: There’s a New PM in Town!
February 19, 2016
Make-A-Wish Canada has teamed up with the Government of Canada to make his wish come true this week! The teenager from Brampton, who has been diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma, has been having quite the busy week.
On Monday, the RCMP met up with PJ and his family in Ottawa and accompanied him to the presidential suite in the Chateau Laurier.
On Tuesday, it was down to business for our new Prime Minister PJ with a full security detail, security briefings, and tour on a Challenger jet – in the prime minister’s seat, of course.
Later in the day, Governor General David Johnston braved Ottawa’s #Snowmageddon2016 to meet PJ and his family at Rideau Hall.
On Wednesday, PJ kept busy on Parliament Hill with a Senate meeting, a news conference, and a special dinner.
Members of Parliament were thrilled to meet their right honourable PM.
And they all had the chance to salute the new leader when he rose in the House of Commons.
But before the eventful day was over, PJ got to meet his predecessor – Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.
He looks pretty natural behind the desk, doesn’t he?
“It was great to meet PJ,” Trudeau said. Is that an early endorsement for #PJ2019?!
We, here at LPC, can’t wait to see what’s in store for PM PJ!
