Statement by Liberal Leader Justin Trudeau on Canada Day

TORONTO– Liberal Leader Justin Trudeau made the following statement today on Canada Day:
 
“As we celebrate Canada Day, firing up the barbecues, taking the family to the park, and gathering in neighbours’ backyards, we take pride in the diverse and beautiful country we all love.
 
This is a moment to honour what we have been able to achieve together in just 146 years of history, and to celebrate the common values that bind us together as a great nation: democracy, freedom, compassion and equality.
 
While families and friends rejoice in communities from coast to coast to coast, we also renew our commitment to work together to build a better tomorrow for all Canadians.
 
On behalf of the Liberal Party of Canada and our Parliamentary Caucus, I would like to wish you and your loved ones a very happy Canada Day.”
