Celina Caesar-Chavannes nominated as Liberal candidate for by-election in Whitby—Oshawa

WHITBY, ON – Members of the Whitby—Oshawa Federal Liberal Association met on the evening of July 17, 2014 to nominate Celina Caesar-Chavannes as the candidate who will represent the Liberal Party of Canada in the upcoming federal by-election in Whitby—Oshawa.
Ms. Caesar-Chavannes has deep roots in Whitby—Oshawa, where she lives with her husband and three children. A successful entrepreneur and a distinguished research consultant, she was named the Toronto Board of Trade’s Business Entrepreneur of the Year in 2013 and she works with a variety of private, government, and non-government organizations. She is also particularly active with a number of organizations such as the Congress of Black Women of Canada, the Canadian Institutes of Health Research, and several governing councils within the University of Toronto.
Ms. Caesar-Chavannes is an international lecturer on the inclusion of marginalized populations in clinical health research. She has a Bachelor of Science from the University of Toronto, an MBA in Healthcare Management from the University of Phoenix, and is completing an Executive MBA from the Rotman School of Business at the University of Toronto.
Ms. Caesar-Chavannes said of her nomination: “I am proud to become a member of the Liberal team and look forward to working for my community and country under the leadership of Justin Trudeau. I am committed to serving as a strong, local representative for the residents of Whitby—Oshawa.”
