Inspiring moments can come sooner than you anticipate
June 15, 2015
When I first met Justin Trudeau, I was inspired to step forward in the hopes of representing my community and bringing real change to Edmonton West.
Justin’s values and his leadership style resonate with me – he is a leader who listens, is considerate, and is unafraid to make difficult decisions. That is the type of leader Canada needs right now.
I have had the honour of working with diverse leaders during my career: first as a social worker, then as an Alberta Liberal MLA and Edmonton city councilor, and now as a federal Liberal candidate – each one making me a stronger leader. As a social worker, I became president of our association, and as MLA I served as Caucus Whip and critic for both health and labour.
It is time to return to solid principles and an inclusive vision for Canada – it is time for real change.Karen Leibovici
As a city councillor, I had the privilege to serve as president of the Federation of Canadian Municipalities. I am proud that, during that service, I led the organization to a groundbreaking billion-dollar infrastructure deal between municipalities and the federal government.
Very often, leadership is defined by finishing what you start.
I have called Edmonton West home for 35 years, and so have seniors, children, families, immigrants, and those who have had to work longer and harder just to make ends meet. Each and every person in Edmonton West deserves strong representation in Ottawa – and that is why I am running.
I’m running to ensure that Canadians are provided with the opportunities that have eroded over the past 10 years under Stephen Harper. It is time to return to solid principles and an inclusive vision for Canada – it is time for real change.
