Liberals Offering Change in By-elections
May 11, 2014
OTTAWA – The Leader of the Liberal Party of Canada, Justin Trudeau, today issued the following statement on the four federal by-elections called for June 30, 2014, in Trinity—Spadina, Scarborough—Agincourt, Macleod, and Fort McMurray—Athabasca:
“Liberals are offering a real and fair chance for middle class families in the four by-elections called today. Over the past several months, Canadians have responded to our call for change, and thousands of new members have joined the Party in open, contested nominations.
“Canadians are looking for representatives who will bring their local interests and concerns to Ottawa. Under Mr. Harper, all they get in return is the voice of the Prime Minister in their community.
“Liberals are committed to returning a voice to Canadians. Only the Liberal Party is offering strong, local candidates, including Adam Vaughan in Trinity—Spadina, Arnold Chan in Scarborough—Agincourt, Kyle Harrietha in Fort McMurray—Athabasca, and Dustin Fuller in Macleod.
“This is an important campaign, and we are reaching out to Canadians and asking for their ideas, their hope, and their hard work in the days ahead.”
