Statement by Liberal Party of Canada Leader Justin Trudeau on the celebration of Christmas by Orthodox Christians and Eastern Catholics

OTTAWA – The Leader of the Liberal Party of Canada, Justin Trudeau, today issued the following statement on the celebration of Christmas by Orthodox Christians and Eastern Catholics:

“This week, Christians of Eastern Orthodox and Eastern Catholic faiths here at home and around the world celebrate Christmas.

“Surrounded by family, friends, and loved ones, many Christians gather to mark the birth of Jesus Christ, and to reflect on his messages of hope, kindness, and charity. This joyful time of year is also an opportunity to appreciate the many blessings we are fortunate to enjoy in Canada, and to give back to our communities.

“On behalf of the Liberal Party of Canada and our Parliamentary Caucus, Sophie and I extend our warmest wishes to all Eastern Orthodox and Eastern Catholic Canadians for a very happy Christmas.”
