Statement by Liberal Party of Canada Leader Justin Trudeau on the 43rd Anniversary of Multiculturalism

OTTAWA – The Leader of the Liberal Party of Canada, Justin Trudeau, today issued the following statement on the 43rd anniversary of Canada’s policy of multiculturalism:

“Today, Canada celebrates the adoption of an official policy of multiculturalism.”

“Our country is recognized around the world for its openness and as a leader in the protection of minority rights. Today, we celebrate that all of our citizens are equal and valued contributors in our society.”

“Canadians know that our country and communities are made stronger not in spite of our differences, but precisely because of them.”

“On behalf of the Liberal Party of Canada and our Parliamentary Caucus, I join with Canadians in recognizing this important anniversary.”
