Statement by Liberal Party of Canada Leader Justin Trudeau on Eid al-Adha

OTTAWA – The Leader of the Liberal Party of Canada, Justin Trudeau, today issued the following statement on Eid al-Adha:

“Today, Muslims in Canada and around the world come together in observation of Eid al-Adha.”

“This occasion allows for reflection on the importance of sacrifice and charity. Friends and family will gather for gift-giving to those less fortunate, and many Muslims around the world will undertake the Hajj.”

“Eid al-Adha is an opportunity for prayer, forgiveness, and celebration. It is on days like today that we are reminded of the values that bring all Canadians together – those of peace, compassion, family, and friendship.”

“On behalf the Liberal Party of Canada and our Parliamentary Caucus, I extend my best wishes to all those observing Eid al-Adha. Eid Mubarak!”
