September 8, 2014
OTTAWA – The Leader of the Liberal Party of Canada, Justin Trudeau, today issued the following statement on the celebration of the Mid-Autumn Festival:
“Today, I join with Canada’s vibrant Chinese, Taiwanese, Vietnamese, Korean, and Japanese communities in celebrating the Mid-Autumn Festival.
“During this time, communities celebrate by giving thanks for the year’s successes and partaking in cultural activities, such as the making and sharing of mooncakes and the lighting of lanterns. I look forward to observing the Mid-Autumn Festival with Canadians in the Richmond Hill area this week.
“The Liberal Party of Canada and our Parliamentary Caucus extend warmest wishes to all Canadians partaking in this festival, as friends and family come together in celebration of the rich diversity that is at the core of our country’s identity.”
