June 24, 2014
QUEBEC CITY – The Leader of the Liberal Party of Canada, Justin Trudeau, today issued the following statement to mark Saint-Jean-Baptiste Day and Quebec’s National Holiday:
“Today, on Quebec’s National Holiday, I wish all Quebecers a day of celebration with their families, friends, and neighbours. I am proud to join with them in paying tribute to the beautiful and inclusive province that we call home.
“This also marks Saint-Jean-Baptiste Day, which is an opportunity for all Francophones across Canada to recognize the language that unites us from coast to coast to coast. In communities across the country, Francophones will proudly celebrate their heritage and the immeasurable impact it has had in shaping our country.
“On behalf of the Liberal Party of Canada and our Parliamentary Caucus, Sophie and I extend our best wishes to all those marking Saint-Jean-Baptiste Day and Quebec’s National Holiday.”
