Statement by Liberal Party of Canada Leader Justin Trudeau on Yom Kippur

OTTAWA – The Leader of the Liberal Party of Canada, Justin Trudeau, today issued the following statement on Yom Kippur:

“Today at sundown marks the beginning of Yom Kippur, the holiest day in the Jewish calendar.”

“As the Jewish community gathers in fasting and prayer, this is a time for repentance and renewal. Synagogues will fill with friends and family who join in reflecting on the past year, while seeking peace and reconciliation for the year to come.”

“On behalf of the Liberal Party of Canada and our Parliamentary Caucus, I offer my warmest wishes to the Jewish community for a meaningful Yom Kippur. G’mar Chatimah Tova.”
