Statement by Liberal Party of Canada Leader Justin Trudeau on the resignation of Robert Ghiz

“For over a decade, Robert Ghiz has served the people of Prince Edward Island with the utmost distinction, both as an MLA and as Premier.

“Islanders have benefited from Robert’s strong and steady leadership, as he has successfully advanced public policies supporting job creation and opportunity for all Canadians.

“Robert has brought a respected and progressive voice to many of our country’s most pressing needs, whether on economic growth, education, or retirement security.

“I have no doubt that Robert will continue to serve his province and our country with his characteristic passion. I would like to join in thanking him and his family for their service over the past many years.”
