Statement on Tonight’s Conservative Party Debate
November 9, 2016
OTTAWA – The following statement on tonight’s Conservative Party leadership debate was issued by Braeden Caley, Senior Director of Communications for the Liberal Party of Canada:
“After 10 years of Stephen Harper’s Conservatives leaving the middle class behind, all 12 candidates in tonight’s debate highlighted how the Conservative Party continues to be deeply out of touch with the priorities of Canadians.
“Justin Trudeau’s positive plan for real change is making a vital difference in the lives of middle class families, with important steps like a middle class tax cut, the new Canada Child Benefit, and strengthening the Canada Pension Plan . The Conservative Party has stood in opposition to all of the above, but Canadians know we can’t let them stand in the way of the support we need for the middle class and all those working hard to join it.
“Together, Liberals know we can keep building a better future for all Canadians – not just for those at the very top.”
