Trudeau only Leader offering plan for middle class, real change from Harper

MONTREAL – During tonight’s French-language Leaders’ debate, Canadians saw firsthand that only Justin Trudeau is offering leadership and a plan to invest in the middle class and deliver real change after ten years of Stephen Harper.
“Canadians are calling for real change in government. From coast to coast to coast, middle class Canadians are tired of being ignored by Harper. They are working longer and harder for an ever shrinking piece of the pie,” said Mr. Trudeau. “It’s time to invest in the heart of our economy: the middle class. Liberals have a plan to invest in the things that will improve our lives now – jobs, public transit, affordable housing, child care, training and innovation, and our environment. We will give Canadians the leadership they want and deserve, and grow our economy in a way that works for everyone.”
The Liberal three-point plan will create jobs with the most significant infrastructure investment in Canadian history; grow the middle class by raising taxes on the wealthiest one percent and cutting taxes for middle class Canadians; and help those working to join the middle class by providing more money to help families with the high cost of raising their kids, and investing in essential social infrastructure, including affordable housing and child care.
“Thomas Mulcair’s experience has taught him to say whatever is convenient to get elected, and he thinks people can wait years for change. The Liberal plan will create jobs, grow the economy, and put more money in Canadians’ pockets – not in a decade, but right away,” said Mr. Trudeau. “Canadians deserve better leadership and a government that will make the investments we need. Now is the time to invest in the future of our country. Canadians are demanding better, and by working together, a Liberal government will deliver just that.”
