When I was elected Leader last April, I promised the economy would be my top priority.

I said to the millions of middle class Canadians, and the millions who work hard every day to join the middle class, that under my leadership the purpose of the Liberal Party of Canada will be you.

Which is why, today, I announced the creation of my Economic Advisory Council, a group of experts who will advise me on how to move Canada’s economy forward after so many years stuck in first gear.

But as I’ve said many times before, my vision for policy creation is not to build a platform behind closed doors. I want to work together with you to create a policy vision that belongs to all Canadians.

Which is why I’ve asked two lead members of my Economic Advisory Council, Finance and National Revenue Critic, Scott Brison, and respected business journalist and author, and newly nominated candidate for Toronto Centre, Chrystia Freeland, to join me today at 4:30pm Eastern for this live Q & A on the Economy — and why I hope you’ll join us.
