Week eight: Liberals present transparent, prudent plan to invest in middle class

OTTAWA – This week on the campaign trail, Liberal Party of Canada Leader Justin Trudeau continued sharing his plan for real change with Canadians in Halifax, Mount Pearl, St. John’s, Ottawa, Montréal, and the GTA.

Yesterday, Liberals presented a transparent, prudent, and fully costed fiscal plan to make urgent investments in the middle class, and in the things that will improve our lives now – jobs, public transit, affordable housing, child care, training, innovation, and our environment.

As part of the Liberal three-point plan to create jobs, grow the middle class, and help those working hard to join it, Mr. Trudeau announced that a Liberal government will:

• Provide our Canadian Armed Forces with the equipment and support they need to protect Canada and its sovereignty;
• Put more money in the pockets of the families who need it most, provide high-quality, affordable, accessible, inclusive child care, and offer greater flexibility for working parents;
• Reinvest in our cultural and creative industries, and help Canadian artists; and
• Bring real change to Canada’s immigration system so it is focused on compassion, economic opportunity, and family reunification.

Finally, at the French-language Leaders’ debate this week, Canadians saw firsthand that only Justin Trudeau is offering leadership and a plan to invest in the middle class that will deliver real change after ten years of Stephen Harper.
