Liberals nominate Karen Wang as new Team Trudeau candidate for Burnaby South

Burnaby, BC –  Liberals in Burnaby South have nominated Karen Wang, a devoted community leader and local small business owner, as the official Team Trudeau candidate in the upcoming federal by-election.

“We are very proud to have Karen Wang on Team Trudeau for the upcoming by-election in Burnaby South, as our Liberal movement continues to grow across British Columbia,” said Suzanne Cowan, President of the Liberal Party of Canada. “Karen is a dedicated community leader and a champion for a strong middle class, and she’ll never stop working hard to build a better future for families in Burnaby South.”

Karen is a small business owner, mother of two, and active community volunteer who lives in Burnaby South with her husband and family. As an early childhood educator and entrepreneur in the Lower Mainland for more than 15 years, Karen has a unique understanding of the vibrant local economy – and what it takes help families and create good new jobs in her community.

“In Burnaby South, we need a committed local champion in Parliament who knows our city’s challenges and opportunities, and who will always be a strong voice for our community,” said Karen Wang. “I look forward to working with Justin Trudeau to grow our economy, strengthen our middle class, invest in more affordable housing and better transit and roads, and protect a healthy environment for our kids and grandkids.”
