He’s a Canadian hero.
And now he’s the first victim of pre-convention Conservative attacks — attacks only you can stop.
Lt. General (retired) Andrew Leslie led Canada’s mission in Afghanistan. He served his country with distinction. He retired in 2011 and started advising Justin Trudeau on international affairs last year.
Now Leslie is the focus of a Conservative attack questioning whether members of the Canadian Forces and RCMP who serve 20 years or more should have the expenses of a final move after they retire defrayed in recognition of their service.
(As a retiring general, Leslie and his family made one final move in 2013. Following Treasury Board guidelines, the Department of National Defence handled and paid for all costs associated with the move, and approved every expenditure independently as required.)
The Harper Campaign may be using the $18-million they raised last year to take aim at the brave men and women in uniform who serve our country so honourably. We’re using your donations to build an economic vision that benefits all Canadians — and to share it Canada-wide.
Show your support for Justin’s vision of a strong Canadian middle class — donate $3 right now and help us raise $250,000 before he takes the stage Thursday evening:
