Hope and hard work in Stormont-Dundas-South Glengarry
August 18, 2013
Stormont-Dundas-South Glengarry (SDSG) Federal Liberal Association held an exceptional event on August 17th in perfect weather.
Nearly 400 people attended the association’s BBQ and Corn Roast at the Lost Villages Museum in Cornwall. While the association only expected 150- 200 people, the large attendance was a welcomed surprise.
Liberal members, supporters and family members were welcomed by Ottawa-Vanier Liberal MP Mauril Belanger, former MP and Speaker of the House of Commons Peter Milliken, and former SDSG MPP Jim Brownell.
Letters, emails, local phone banks and voice broadcasts were all used by the association to get the word out to its numerous supporters. We were very happy to have such a large attendance at the event but we recognize that there is still much work that needs to be done.
Justin Trudeau has strong support across Canada but it will take hard work and financial support in every riding to restore a progressive Liberal government in Ottawa.
Our association is hopeful and plans to hold more events throughout the year to build on Justin Trudeau’s leadership and hard work.
