MONTREAL – The Leader of the Liberal Party of Canada, Justin Trudeau, today discussed his vision for the Canadian economy and his plan for fairness for the middle class, during a roundtable with members of the Fédérations des chambres de commerce du Québec (FCCQ).
“I was very pleased to meet with the FCCQ, an important player in Quebec’s economy,” said Mr. Trudeau. “I heard clearly about their priorities and concerns, and had the opportunity to share our economic vision for Canada. We have a plan for fairness to help the middle class and put more money in the pockets of those who need it most. I had the chance to share our plan to put Canada on a strong footing, to diversify and renew the foundations of our economy.”
The Fédérations des chambres de commerce du Québec is comprised of more than 140 chambers of commerce, and represents more than 60,000 businesses and 150,000 business people involved in all sectors of Quebec’s economy. During the roundtable, Mr. Trudeau outlined key priorities of a future Liberal government, including fairness for the middle class and support for infrastructure, post-secondary education, science and innovation, and entrepreneurship.
“With a few months remaining before the election, it is essential that we discuss how to build the economic future of our country. The FCCQ is particularly in tune with the economic realities and challenges facing Quebec,” said Mr. Trudeau. “Our constructive discussion allowed us to address certain key issues, including training and retention in the workforce, which are essential for building a strong economy.”
