Liberal plan will deliver strong, progressive change for all Canadians
October 17, 2015
HALIFAX – Canadians are ready for a new government and a strong plan that is positive and optimistic, and Liberals will continue working hard to give everyone a real and fair chance at success, said the Leader of the Liberal Party of Canada, Justin Trudeau.
“As I’ve travelled across the country during this election campaign, it is clear to me that Canadians want change. They want to see their values and priorities reflected in their government. After ten years, the Harper Conservatives are out of ideas and out of touch. Liberals have the only plan to deliver real change now,” said Mr. Trudeau. “If we stay focused and work hard, on Monday, we can vote to send great people to Ottawa and bring an end to the Harper decade.”
This election, the most progressive platform is the Liberal platform, and Mr. Trudeau is sharing his plan today in Halifax, Saint John, Thunder Bay, and Winnipeg. Ours is the only plan that will invest now in what Canadians need – things like good-paying jobs, reliable transit, and affordable housing. Ours is the only plan that will address income inequality by raising taxes on the wealthiest one percent so we can cut them for the middle class. Nine out of ten families will be better off under our plan than under Mr. Harper’s. The Liberal plan will grow the economy, strengthen the middle class, and help those working hard to join it.
“Now is the time to talk with neighbours, family, and friends. Now is the time to make phone calls and knock on doors. We must make sure that no vote and no voter gets left behind, because we have the chance to beat cynicism with hard work,” said Mr. Trudeau. “Thomas Mulcair wants us to believe that change can wait, and Stephen Harper wants us to believe that better is not possible. On October 19th, let’s prove that in Canada, better is always possible.”
