Liberals Wrap-Up Successful Biennial Convention
February 23, 2014
MONTRÉAL – Canadians have shown at this week’s Liberal Biennial Convention that we can build a bold plan for the future and a strong team that is committed to a real and fair chance for the middle class, said the Leader of the Liberal Party of Canada, Justin Trudeau.
“The last several days have been vital in giving shape to Liberals’ ideas and priorities, and I have been thrilled with the engaging debates brought forward by Canadians,” said Mr. Trudeau. “I would also like to congratulate the incoming President, Anna Gainey, as well as all the other individuals elected to the National Board and other Party offices.”
Over 3,000 attendees joined the Liberal Biennial Convention in Montréal to discuss and vote on policy resolutions and elect a new National Board that will help build the Liberal Party of Canada team for the 2015 federal election. Liberals resoundingly supported bold ideas and policy proposals focused on economic growth, infrastructure investment, post-secondary education, and trade.
“I want to thank the thousands of individuals who participated in this important Convention – delegates, candidates, and volunteers – for helping as we develop our plan with Canadians,” said Mr. Trudeau. “While we will continue to reach out, and have a great deal of work ahead of us, the Convention has demonstrated that Liberals are building a committed team with a strong vision that will offer a real and fair chance for the middle class.”
