Mulcair, NDP staff caught peddling blatant falsehoods – even when confronted with undeniable video evidence
September 21, 2015
OTTAWA – Thomas Mulcair was an enthusiastic cheerleader for water privatization and export.
Despite being confronted with undeniable video evidence showing Mulcair arguing for the export scheme, Mulcair and his senior staff continue to deny that he ever held this position.
“He never advocated for bulk water exports.”
(NDP Senior Campaign Advisor, Brad Lavigne, CTV Question Period, September 20, 2015)
Mulcair himself repeated the falsehood in front of the entire country during last Thursday’s debate. When confronted with his record on water privatization and export, Mulcair called the assertion “false.”
It is yet another illustration that Thomas Mulcair will say anything – and his closest advisors are following his lead.
Mulcair has adopted Harper’s budget, and now he is copying Harper’s communications strategy: deny, deny, deny at all costs, even when confronted with the truth.
The only thing Thomas Mulcair’s experience has taught him is to play politics with everything.
For the NDP’s benefit, we have helpfully compiled just a few of the instances where Mr. Mulcair energetically advocated for water privatization and export.
