New Liberal ads highlight plan to keep Canadians safe and make homes more affordable

Ottawa, Ontario – Today, the Liberal Party of Canada released two new national ads focusing on how only Justin Trudeau and the Liberal team have a real plan to keep Canada moving forward, including by getting the job done on vaccines and helping more Canadians find a home of their own. The ads are set to air on television and digitally in the days ahead.

Ending the pandemic starts with getting all eligible Canadians vaccinated, but Erin O’Toole’s Conservatives won’t trust the science on this. We need leadership to get us through this crisis and get the job done on vaccines, and only Justin Trudeau and a Liberal government will work with the premiers to get the job done on vaccines so we can build a better Canada. 

“I believe that vaccines should be mandatory for travel on planes and trains, because that’s how we’ll protect our kids and get back to normal,” said Justin Trudeau, Leader of the Liberal Party of Canada, in one of the ads. “Conservative politicians say they would scrap our plan, and won’t even require their own candidates to get vaccinated. This is no time to back down from doing the right thing.”

The deck has been stacked against young Canadians for too long when it comes to buying a home. That’s why Justin Trudeau and the Liberal team have announced a new housing plan that will unlock homeownership and help save first time home buyers up to $30,000, build and repair over 1.4 million homes, and protect Canadians’ rights. The Liberal plan will also ask Canada’s largest financial institutions to pay more to support Canadians in their goal of owning a new home — because we all have a role to play in building a recovery that works for everyone. 

“For far too long, a first home has been out of reach for far too many,” said Mr. Trudeau in the second ad. “We’re going to tax the biggest banks to help more Canadians become homeowners, and help Canada recover. Our plan will crack down on predatory practices. We’ll help you get your down payment faster, or even rent to own. And we’ll get well over 1.4 million families into new homes.”

The Liberal Party is the only team with a real plan to finish the fight against COVID-19, and rebuild a better Canada. While Erin O’Toole’s Conservatives want to cut taxes for the wealthy and cut services for everyone else, Justin Trudeau is moving forward — for everyone.
