June 24, 2013
MONTRÉAL– Liberal Leader Justin Trudeau made the following statement today on the occasion of Quebec’s National Holiday and St. Jean Baptiste Day:
“On Quebec’s National Holiday, I wish all Quebecers a joyous celebration.
Today, people will celebrate and pay tribute to our open and generous province of which I am so proud.
June 24th also marks St. Jean Baptiste Day, a celebration for all Francophones in Canada.
It is an opportunity to rejoice and share this wonderful language that unites us from one ocean to another, and to be proud of our roots, our culture and our values.
To all Quebecers, Francophones, and anyone else joining the celebrations, on behalf of the Liberal Party of Canada and our Parliamentary Caucus, I wish you a wonderful National Holiday and a very happy St. Jean Baptiste.”
