Statement by Liberal Party of Canada Leader Justin Trudeau on Eid Milad-un-Nabi

OTTAWA– The Leader of the Liberal Party of Canada, Justin Trudeau, made the following statement today on Eid Milad-un-Nabi:

“Today, Muslims in Canada and around the world will celebrate Eid Milad-un-Nabi, the birthday of the Prophet Mohammed.

“As poems and stories celebrating the Prophet’s life and teachings are shared, all Canadians can reflect on the rich contributions the Muslim community has made to Canada’s national fabric. On occasions such as this, we are all reminded that our country has grown strong not in spite of our differences, but because of them.

“On behalf of the Liberal Party of Canada and our Parliamentary Caucus, I wish all those celebrating today an Eid Milad-un-Nabi Mubarak.”
