Strong Liberal economic team will create real change for Canadians

TORONTO – Today, the Leader of the Liberal Party of Canada, Justin Trudeau, is showcasing the members of his economic team from across the country, and detailing how real leadership will strengthen the middle class, create jobs, and grow our economy.

“I think leadership today is about attracting great people and giving them real jobs. To build an economy that works for the middle class and those working hard to join it, you need a strong and diverse team,” said Mr. Trudeau. “I am deeply honoured to have such an accomplished Liberal team of economic leaders choosing to serve their communities and country.”

The Liberal economic team includes several former federal and provincial economic ministers; successful entrepreneurs and job creators; leading experts in technology, economics, training, First Nations governance, and natural resources; and community leaders, among others.

“Canada is the only G7 economy in recession, and things are tougher than they need to be because Stephen Harper’s plan has failed. Harper believes the way to grow the economy is to make wealthy people wealthier, while Thomas Mulcair and the NDP won’t stop giving cheques to millionaires and won’t lower taxes for the middle class,” said Mr. Trudeau. “The Liberal Party is the only party with a team and a plan that will ensure that the economy works for the middle class – because when it does, you have a country that works for everyone. Together, we are going to build that country.”
