Trudeau only Leader with real plan to grow Canada’s economy

CALGARY, AB – During tonight’s Globe and Mail Leaders’ Debate, Canadians saw firsthand that only Liberals have a real, strong plan to invest in job creation, the middle class, and those working hard to join it.
“After the Harper decade, middle class Canadians need a government that will create jobs and grow the economy to make a difference in the lives of all Canadians,” said the Leader of the Liberal Party of Canada, Justin Trudeau. “Stephen Harper has ignored those at the heart of the Canadian economy: our middle class. And Thomas Mulcair’s immediate priority is eliminating Harper’s deficit, which has already forced him to break his promises on health care, transit, and child care.”
Canada deserves better leadership, and Liberals made a choice in this campaign to invest in Canadians. Liberals have a three-point plan that will create jobs with the most significant infrastructure investment in Canadian history; grow the middle class by raising taxes on the wealthiest one percent and cutting taxes for middle class Canadians; and help those working to join the middle class by investing in essential social infrastructure, including affordable housing and child care, as well as providing more money to help families with the high cost of raising their kids.
“Stephen Harper’s plan gives billions in benefits to the wealthiest few and does nothing to help the middle class. Thomas Mulcair has no answers on the economy, and irresponsibly supports Harper’s plan to give more money to millionaires,” said Mr. Trudeau. “Canadians want a plan to invest in jobs, in transit, in clean water, in our middle class, and in people working hard to join it. Only Liberals will invest in growth that works for everyone.”
