February 8, 2014
After years of failed Conservative promises and spin, it’s time for new leadership on the economy and prosperity and growth for the middle class. Above all, it’s time for new ideas.
That’s why the economy will be the central theme at our upcoming Montreal 2014 – Liberal Biennial Convention February 20 to 23.

We will use this opportunity to introduce new ideas. But more importantly, we will listen and engage. We know Canadians are passionate about this country’s potential and want to play a role in generating the ideas that move our economy forward.
Party members have spent the last several months developing policy resolutions touching important priorities like investments in infrastructure, telecommuting solutions, youth employment, post-secondary education, and restoring trust in democracy.
These are just a few of the ideas we’ll be debating at the Convention, and we want you to be part of the conversation.

In just 10 months under Justin’s leadership, we’ve taken bold, decisive positions, and offered real change.
— Removing patronage and partisanship in the Senate by committing to appoint only independent senators through an open, transparent and non-partisan appointments process and taking immediate steps to move forward with this goal.
— Holding Open Nominations in 338 ridings starting March 1 to ensure your community has a strong voice in Ottawa.
— Opposing Stephen Harper’s plan to end Canada Post home mail delivery for millions while forcing Canadians to pay more for fewer services.
— Raising the bar on openness and transparency by posting MP expenses online as part of our Open Parliament plan.
— Protecting national unity by defending the Clarity Act and opposing Quebec’s Charter of Values.
— Making our communities safer by bringing marijuana under the law.
— Supporting our economy with the Keystone XL Pipeline while also ensuring sustainable energy solutions.
— Committing to keep veterans’ service centres open to ensure the needs of those that served their country are properly and efficiently met
— Putting the needs of the middle class at the centre of Canadian debate on the economy.
We’re working hard to build a great country with a strong economy for the benefit of all Canadians. That’s why we’re doing politics differently by engaging directly online and in person with Canadians, listening to your concerns and ideas, and proposing bold actions.
