Week five: Liberals announce historic investments in public transit and green infrastructure
September 6, 2015
In week five on the campaign trail, Liberal Party of Canada Leader Justin Trudeau continued to share his plan for real change with Canadians in Gatineau, Laval, Trois-Rivières, Quebec City, Brossard, Montreal, Richmond Hill, and Toronto.
On Wednesday, Mr. Trudeau unveiled the Liberal plan to invest in clean jobs, grow the economy, and protect the environment, alongside Quebec Liberal candidates in Trois-Rivieres.
On Friday, in Richmond Hill, Greater Toronto Area Liberal candidates joined Mr. Trudeau to announce that a Liberal government will make an historic investment in public transit so that Canadians can spend less time commuting, and more quality time with their families.
This week, the Young Liberals of Canada launched #GenerationTrudeau, a student-run organization dedicated to empowering and mobilizing voters aged 18-24. They are working on campuses across the country to have as many young people as possible commit to vote and volunteer for Team Trudeau, and encourage others to do the same. View the launch video, and follow #GenerationTrudeau’s progress online and on Twitter.
We know that this election offers a clear choice between smart investments that create jobs and growth, or cuts that will slow our economy further. Unlike Harper and Mulcair, we are the only party with a real plan to build a strong economy and middle class by making unprecedented new investments in public transit, social infrastructure, and green infrastructure.
Canada is a great country, and we know that better is always possible. Our Liberal team from coast to coast to coast continues to share our plan for real change in their communities, and show how a Liberal government will make a real, positive difference in the lives of all Canadians.
